Papa Flowers

IGS Prime Surveyant Osra Kosh,

10C Breacher Papa Flowers was not the first candidate who'd fabricated their credentials successfully enough to get appointed to a Crossing, but he was the first and only to get past me and actually leave Fort Shrikemoth to see the Displacement beyond.

Papa Flowers convinced the Survey he was a celestial scholar from Scarp Elucidational, whose main area of expertise were the un-stars of the Serpent constellation. He scored top marks in his transliminal evaluations. His personal demonstrations of star-based prescience and omenship were efficient and, more importantly, cleverly performed. Survey extrapolations rated an expedition's safety and success to above nominal with his inclusion, especially when accompanied by a Consecrated Imperial Psychopomp. As one of those had already been assigned to the 10C team, Papa Flowers was approved to join them as an aetheological specialist.

In truth, Papa Flowers was a snake cultist of the fairly esoteric but pseudo-proscribed tradition, the ith-Krel Gnhnash, "the Tusking Way". The ith-Krel Gnhnash derived much of its syncretic theology from Ra Gada/Osh Ornim foundation myths, primarily the amalgam-entity Malakzar's ascension and usurpation of the seat of the Hungry Void. The core tenets of the cult weren't especially dangerous but they had strayed too far into Maruhkati Selectives territory for some on the Elder Council. Malakzarism was never officially dismantled, but rather its practice was contained to the Craglorn region.

And yet... no one in the Survey would have actually cared about Papa Flowers' private religious affiliation had he revealed it. (We've overlooked and deployed substantially more concerning candidates.) His marks, talents, and extrapolation readings would have been enough to grant him exception status. It was his intent that was the true fabrication.

Papa Flowers did not want to aid the Crossing project's efforts to rid Tamriel of the Snake. Rather, he'd snuck in to ask the Displacement if he could become its first outside world disciple.

At least that's what he wanted until the members of the 10C forward team reached the Bridge of Attribution. Papa Flowers was the only one to survive the manifestation of the Ut-Boethian superentity. Physically, that is-- his mind did not remain intact. In late 4E15, he was admitted to the Survey's Crossings recovery program in the Imperial City, aka "The Row".

Perhaps of interest to the IGS Calibrations & Review committee are these surviving fragments of Ophidion Firmamentum, an ith-Krel Gnhnash religious tract that Papa Flowers labored over both before and after his time in the Displacement. While the tract as a whole is chaotic, unmeasured, and incomplete, those post-Displacement revisions to a central pillar of the Malakzar-i myth are notable.

Ever red in diamond aspect,

Knight-Sister of the Imperator's Blades, Beldeni, J. 'Sabre'

PS - In the spring of 4E16, care wardens in the Row discovered Papa Flowers had purloined a copy of An Influence of Serpents from the Proctor's private collection. The tome was quickly incinerated. Personnel and fellow patients that had come into contact with it were brainswept.

I once again would like to thank Director-General Likor of Provincial Trade Offices (Standard) for alerting me to the matter.
